This Peach Crisp made with fresh peaches is a warm, comforting dessert featuring naturally sweet fruit and a golden oat crumble. Perfect for summer and early fall, it’s easy to make and even better topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
6 fresh ripe peaches (about 5 cups), peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free if needed)
¾ cup rolled oats
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the sliced peaches in a large bowl and toss with lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and vanilla. Transfer the mixture to a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.
In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the butter and mix using your fingers or a pastry cutter until it forms a coarse crumble.
Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the peach filling.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden and the peaches are bubbling.
Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes:
If peaches are very sweet, you can reduce the sugar slightly.
Add chopped pecans or almonds to the topping for a crunchy twist.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
