Easy Cheesy Cheese Bread Delight

Golden on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside this quick cheese bread is your new go-to comfort bake! No yeast, no fuss just simple ingredients mixed together and baked into a warm, savory loaf that pairs perfectly with soups, salads or enjoyed all on its own.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt or sour cream
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add Cheese and Herbs:
    Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives or parsley.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, yogurt (or sour cream), and oil (or melted butter).
  5. Bring It All Together:
    Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined don’t overmix.
  6. Bake:
    Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle a little extra cheese on top for a golden crust. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Serve:
    Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature!
