Ingredients

– 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

– 2 tbsp unsalted butter

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1 cup chicken broth (low sodium)

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1/2 onion, finely chopped

– 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

– 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/2 tsp black pepper

– 1 tsp thyme or parsley (fresh preferred)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Season chicken with salt, pepper, and thyme.

2. In an oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

3. Add garlic, onions, and mushrooms to the same skillet. Sauté for 5 minutes until softened.

4. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in chicken broth, then add cream. Simmer until sauce thickens.

5. Return chicken to skillet. Spoon sauce over chicken and cover with foil.

6. Bake for 15–20 minutes, removing foil for the last 5 minutes. Internal temp should reach 165°F.

7. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or Parmesan.
