Description
This oven-baked grilled cheese is crispy, golden, and gooey inside without any frying pan required! A perfect comfort meal made in just 20 minutes, ideal for classic, vegan, or gluten-free diets.
Ingredients
– 8 slices of bread (sourdough, brioche, or gluten-free)
– 8 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or vegan alternatives)
– 4 tablespoons softened butter or mayonnaise
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Spread butter or mayo on one side of each slice of bread.
3. Place 4 slices butter-side-down on the sheet, then layer with 2 slices of cheese each.
4. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side-up.
5. Bake for 6–7 minutes, then flip each sandwich carefully.
6. Bake another 6–7 minutes until golden and melted.
7. Let rest 2 minutes, slice, and serve.
Notes
– For a vegan version, use dairy-free cheese and plant-based butter.
– For gluten-free, use sturdy gluten-free sandwich bread.
– Optional: Add tomato slices, caramelized onions, or a pinch of garlic powder.
